Writing Bravely™ with Adina Silvestri

A four-hour in-person experience · Richmond, Virginia

What might emerge if you stopped editing yourself?

An afternoon of guided writing, reflection, and honest connection—for people ready to move beyond the polished version of the story and listen for what is asking to be written.

You do not need to call yourself a writer

You only need a willingness to be curious.

This is not a workshop about perfect sentences, clever ideas, or sharing more than you want to share. It is a structured pause from the noise—a place to follow your own words toward something more honest, spacious, and alive.

Through carefully chosen prompts and experiential practices, you will have time to write, notice, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of you that rarely get the microphone.

What you’ll experience

A thoughtful rhythm of writing and reflection

During our afternoon together, we’ll move between writing, experiential practices, conversation, and quiet reflection. You’ll be invited to explore:

Guided expressive writing that moves beneath the obvious answer.

Reflective storytelling to notice the narratives shaping your life.

Gentle IFS-inspired exercises for connecting with different parts of yourself.

Guided exploration using Inner Active Cards, a visual parts-work tool.

Small-group conversation, with no pressure to share.

Quiet moments for personal reflection and integration.

An optional gentle nature walk, weather permitting.

Plus light snacks, refreshments, and a small Writing Bravely™ gift to take home.

  • You journal, but keep circling the same well-worn thoughts.
  • You are moving through a transition, question, loss, or beginning.
  • You want structure, spaciousness, and genuine human connection.
  • You are curious about expressive writing as a tool for insight and emotional movement.

What past participants have said

One prompt. Three different discoveries.

Each person met the same invitation—“The last time I felt free…”—and followed it somewhere entirely their own.

“Exploring this topic helped me to make meaningful connections related to my ‘Why’ for being an entrepreneur and expand my understanding of the range of emotions I associate with the feeling of freedom. I walked away from the experience with a greater capacity to filter business decisions through if that choice creates greater opportunities for freedom or creates constraints.”

Writing Bravely™ participant

“The series of prompts helped me clarify the factors that existed at this time in my life that made me feel free, and situations in my current life that feel contrary to that. Hearing others’ responses was a reminder of other activities that make me feel free, and it was an extra nudge to implement some of the things that I have been wanting to do.”

Writing Bravely™ participant

“The prompt gave me some pause, because I rarely think about the times I feel free. It was a great opportunity to tap into what freedom feels like and how the activity or experience contributes to those feelings. I’m left wanting to be more mindful of the times I feel free and bringing more of that feeling into my daily life.”
